The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler which means summer is coming to an end. For me a change in seasons means one thing, time to set some goals. Although summer has been a blast, eating has been irregular and unhealthy at times. There is no better time to get back on track than the start of the school year. So....... Who's in? Who needs a group of people to motivate them? Who is ready for a change? There will always be an excuse: fall is too busy, I am not that unhealthy, I am too far gone, I don't know where to start, eating healthy is too expensive.... and so on. Forget all of them. The time is now.
When:
SEPT 3/2013
What:
Time to make a change to better your health.
Food Goal:
Before you start please keep this in mind... try to stay away from calorie counting, fad diets, and starvation goals; try to not only eliminate some "bad" from your diet, but also add some good. Focus on whole foods, try to cut out some processed.
Fitness Goal:
Look at what you are doing now for fitness. Is it enough? Did you know that as adults we should have at least 150 minutes of physical activity a week? It is advised that these be in bouts of 10 minutes or more at a time. Keep in mind things such as house work, yard work, walking to work all count towards your 150 minutes. Having said that maybe you could make your goal to have 3 planned moderate to vigorous workouts per week. These could be swimming, running, power walking, biking, power yoga, zumba, crossfit... the list goes on.
Execute:
After you make your nutrition and exercise goals....
